I have not kept up as promised. So, I won't promise anymore but promise to try to be better. There is so much going on, so many things to post. This year has been extremely eventful and I will blog about it later. It's time to get ready for Christmas. Can't believe it's only 6 weeks from today and I have nothing done which I will blog about later, LOL. I have three great groups I started on Facebook: The official Cathie Filian and Steve Piacenza fan page, Extremely Crafty Hoarders and Extremely Crafty Hoarders Holidays. Tons of DIY on Cath and Steve's various pages, lots of fun, swaps, recipes and just good old visiting on my other two pages. If you are interested in joining either, please give me a shout. Tomorrow Mike and I will celebrate our first date 41 years ago! He didn't remember the right date when I asked him as men are sometimes want to do. I'll let it slide this time. Who knew 41 years ago when he took me to feast at Pancho's Mexican Buffet (all you can eat for $1.49) and then to one of the most lovely older theaters in Dallas that would be it for both of us. II can't remember the name of the theatre but it was elegant and beautiful. And I could still climb stairs without screaming in pain. We saw The Godfather. Falling Into Fall

Even though the temps are still hot here in north Texas, the air has changed. At least it seems that way to me. Grasping at straws.....quite possibly. LOL  But regardless, it lifts my spirit and I'll take that any day. Fall is my favorite time of year. Opening windows after living in air conditioning for months on end and before buttoning up for the colder air of winter and the heater. The leaves on our ornamental pears begin to turn a beautiful shade of maroon, the neighbors' trees are a riot of gold and orange and the leaves begin to fall. Yard work slows down. I swear every year I'm going to have a wonderful fall veggie garden and every year it doesn't happen. I have always believed we will have better luck in the fall rather than our non existent spring that quickly melts into a hot and dry summer. One of these years I will have to follow through. Life's a Hoot!

What has the Brod Abode been up too? Hmmmm so many things have gone on the last month or so. This Brod has become a Food Network addict. Again. And that is awesome because now all I want to do this "going to be Texas hot" summer is try new recipes! IF ONLY I didn't have to go to the grocery store. My dream kitchen would include a never ending pantry. Need it? It's there. Ah, I can dream. The bored om factor has been so great I've succumbed to the temptation of General Hospital again. First time in maybe, 20 years? Getting old is extremely interesting and so is double cataract surgery. And the rules that accompany said surgery. I think I have discovered that they have discovered I can be an ornery patient. I guess another old thing. An old EMT, VBG.
